Goal Setting

Mandarin Class Goal Setting in the first Trimester

Name: Anne Wilson Level: 7 Grade Intermediate Grade: 7

What is your difficulty in learning Mandarin?

I don’t know very many words and sentence structures. I need extra help with that last year I had a tutor but this year I don’t have time for a tutor.

Please list your goals in different areas:

Listening: I want to learn to understand more words because, I recognize the characters but sometimes not when someone is speaking it.

Oral: I want to learn to speak with better pronunciation.

Reading: I want to learn more characters so I know more things when I read.

Character Writing: I need to make my characters more precise.

Classroom participation: I need to participate more in class.

For achieving my goal, I would like to do:

Listening: Do more listening exercises in class before a dictation.

Oral: More speaking in front of you. Not in front of the class, because some people get scared.

Reading: Whenever someone doesn’t recognize a word you could write it on the board along with the meaning

Character Writing: I need to spend more time on writing my characters, sometimes I just rush through it.

Classroom participation: I need to focus and learn the answers to the questions. I participate when I know the answer to it.
